Marshall Gerstein Elects Two Attorneys to Partnership

Marshall Gerstein is proud to announce that Michelle Bolos and Raymond R. Ricordati, III have been elected to partnership, effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Bolos joined Marshall Gerstein in 2016 after completing a successful externship for a federal judge. She has developed extensive experience formulating and executing global brand enforcement strategies to facilitate brand protection and expansion for a broad range of clients. She represents clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and federal courts.

Bolos earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and her law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. She has been selected for inclusion among Super Lawyers’ Illinois Rising Stars since 2022, was named a 2022 World IP Review Leader for Trademarks, and is recognized among Best Lawyers’ “Ones to Watch.”

Ricordati joined Marshall Gerstein in 2019 and has two decades of experience as a patent attorney and litigator, serving clients in the U.S. and abroad. In litigation, he has extensive experience enforcing IP rights and defending against infringement allegations for clients in a variety of technologies across many industries, including computer hardware and software, mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and biotechnical. He has handled matters in federal courts across the country as well as the Federal Circuit, the Patent Trial and Appeals Board, and the U.S. International Trade Commission.

Ricordati earned his undergraduate degree in computer engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from The John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law). He is a former chair of the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago’s Computer/Electronics Committee and former president of the North Suburban Bar Association.
