  • Paul C. Craane Comments on Extension of the USPTO Green Tech Pilot Program

  • October 22, 2010

The USPTO recently foreshadowed two major extensions of the Green Technology Pilot Program.  First, the expiration of the program will be extended from December 8, 2010 to December 31, 2011.  Second, the USPTO will allow applications filed after December 8, 2009 to petition for inclusion in the program.

Paul C. Craane commented on these changes in “USPTO to Extend Green Patent Deadline” appearing in Environmental Leader and “What does the USPTO’s Green Tech Program Extension Mean for Companies?” appearing in IPFrontline.com.  Mr. Craane points out that while the program can deliver accelerated examination of green tech applications, consideration should be given as to whether the accelerated costs accompanying speedy examination make good business sense.
